Email Limitations
Automatic Link Tracking
The link tracking feature allows you to know which links are being clicked in your deployments, the number of times those links are clicked, and which contacts clicked them. This information can be used to measure both deployment effectiveness and user engagement.
A link can also be added as part of the content without adding it as an asset, such links are also tracked automatically.
You can also generate a variety of reports on Links.
- Landing Page Link Clicks: Provides a report on total clicks and unique clicks for all landing pages.
- Link Clicks – by Browser: Provides a report on browser link clicks.
- Link Clicks – by Handset: Provides a report on link clicks through a handset.
- Link Clicks – by OS: Provides a report on link clicks by OS.
- Link Clicks – by Resolution: Provides a report on link clicks by resolution.
For link tracking, you should use click me format only. Other formats like Video is not supported for link tracking.
Disable Link Tracking
By default, all links added in an email deployment are tracked including duplicate links. To disable link tracking to a link, you must add a key notrack under a element to that specific link.
The key notrack is not supported for AMP HTML.
Email Clicks Reporting
Email clicks or email opens can be reported in Dashboard and Reports for a maximum of 90 days after the deployment is completed. If a contact clicks a link after 90 days, such links will not be reported in Dashboard and Reports.
Email Attachment
The email attachment size that can be sent along with a deployment is limited to 1024KB. The supported formats are:
- .txt
- .doc
- .docx
- .ics
Conditions in Email Deployment
Do not apply the conditions on unique value headers. This will have an impact on the hardware performance and delivery of the deployment.
HTML5 tags
HTML5 tags cannot be embedded in drag and drop email composer. But you can paste your own HTML in HTML editor and use it in emails. We found that HTML5 Audio, Video, SVG and Canvas tags are not supported in major email clients like Gmail (both Gmail app and browser), Outlook (both Outlook desktop and mobile apps) etc. and are only supported in iPhone native email app and Apple Mail on desktop. If want to use HTML5 elements, we recommend you to use a fallback image for these elements so that image is rendered in the clients that do not support HTML5 tags.
For link tracking, you should use click me format only. Other formats like Video is not supported for link tracking.
